Mel and Donnie met in the Spring of 2020. Thank you Hinge! They connected over a shared interest in travel, food and beach living. Donnie had a long tradition of taking winter snowboarding trips. So early on in the relationship Mel took some lessons so they could continue the tradition together.
Donnie planned a ‘spontaneous’ getaway for a weekend trip to Vermont. While at the top of the mountain, mid run Donald turned to Mel, moved her snowboard and got down on one knee. Family and friends were also waiting at the bottom of the mountain to celebrate the engagement!
The couple chose Wylder Windham because of it’s natural beauty and proximity to so many ski mountains. It was still under construction when they booked but could see its potential! A true testament to how easy going they are!
When the wedding came about it was a beautiful fall day. The foliage on the Catskill Mountains was just beginning to turn golden. The vibe was loving, supportive and lively. Mel had recently lost her father, an event that weighed heavily on the couple during the planning. Thankfully, they were surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends. Donnie’s sister officiated and Mel’s mother walked her down the aisle. Wylder Windham was just perfect with a ceremony overlooking the mountains, cocktail hour kiln side and reception in the beautiful and bright hall. The couple ended the night with games and jams in the cellar rec room!
